If a career in law enforcement interests you, you should definitely check out our Law Enforcement Foundations program.  Our short-term program is designed to give you the skills in law enforcement that you’ll need to work in this dynamic career field.  Check out our training program:

Law Enforcement Courses
Our law enforcement classes will provide you with professional training in:

  • Sociology
  • Psychology
  • Ethics
  • Contemporary Social Problems
  • Community and Social Services
  • Issues in Diversity
  • Canadian Government and Politics
  • Law and the Legal System
  • Criminology and the Criminal Justice System
  • Criminal Code and Federal Statutes
  • Young Offenders in Canada
  • Police and Security Operations
  • Community Policing
  • Introduction to Law Enforcement

Students will also participate in a volunteer work experience program and a physical fitness evaluation.  Students will learn all the skills needed to begin working in the law enforcement career field.

Students will also take a career and employment strategies course that will provide techniques on job interviewing, resume preparation, writing thank you letters, and job search management.

Graduates of our Law Enforcement Foundations program may seek careers working in Ontario Police Services. Some careers you may pursue include:

NOTE: Some law enforcement professions in Canada have specific educational and physical requirements for employment. Those considering enrolling in the Law Enforcement Foundations program should become familiar with the qualifications for entry-level positions with individual organizations. If you have a criminal record, it may be difficult to find employment in this industry.
