If you’ve ever considered working in the legal field, you may want to consider training to become a paralegal.

Our Paralegal program is taught by experienced lawyers and paralegals, who can give you the real-world training that you can’t get from books alone. 

The goal of the Paralegal program is to provide students with cogent and critical reasoning abilities; effective oral and written communication skills; and a solid understanding of legal principles.

The program’s objective is to graduate students who are capable of providing responsive, sympathetic, and competent legal services in a cost-effective manner, thereby facilitating access to justice. 

Students will also take a career and employment strategies course that will provide techniques on job interviewing, resume preparation, writing thank you letters, and job search management.

Paralegal Career Opportunities
Paralegals may act independently in the representation of clients as Agents.  They are permitted to represent clients in small claims matters; landlord/tenant matters; matters before most federal and provincial agencies and tribunals such as immigration and workplace safety and insurance matters; pardons and name changes.

Graduates of our Paralegal program might pursue careers in:

 

  • Law and Paralegal Firms
  • Legal Departments of Corporation
  • Government at the Municipal, Provincial or Federal levels
  • Tribunals/Administrative Agencies
  • Provincial Court Offices
  • Banks or other Financial Institutions

Note: Paralegals in Ontario, need to be licensed to practice independently. Students wishing to pursue such careers should ensure that they would be able to meet the licensing requirements before enrolling. Please speak with your admissions representative for further details.
