Our Law Enforcement Foundations classes will provide you with professional training in:
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Ethics
- Contemporary Social Problems
- Issues in Diversity
- Canadian Government and Politics
- Law and the Legal System
- Criminology and the Criminal Justice System
- Criminal Code and Federal Statutes
- Community Policing
- Introduction to Law Enforcement
- Investigation Techniques
- Police Authority/Search/Seizure/Arrest
Students will also participate in a volunteer work experience program and a physical fitness evaluation. Students will learn all the skills needed to begin working in the law enforcement career field.
Students will also take a career and employment strategies course that will provide techniques on job interviewing, resume preparation, writing thank you letters, and job search management.
*Police services in Ontario, and the rest of Canada, have special requirements for those entering a career as a law enforcement officer. Students wishing to pursue such careers should ensure that they would be able to meet the physical and educational requirements before enrolling.
